Everything is set for the second run which is planned to start at 11.00. Rolf Dale, reigning nordic champion in paragliding cross country, is in the lead – eager to put one more champion title to his resumé this year. Pål Hammar Rognøy in second really wants to defend his title from last year. And then we have a whole bunch of pilots ready to challenge them for the podium.
Ready for Run2
Lot of walking
Today there was a lot of walking, but not much flying.
Low cloudbase and a taste of rain due to a passing front made this a disappointing day for most of us. First we waited a lot at the festival area. Then we waited a lot at the top restaurant Stormköket. Then we walked all the way down to Hummeln. Then some walked to the VM8 lift, others waited for a car to pick them up. And just a few found a hole in the clouds to fly through.
So no valid runs today except for Amund Løvland who was allowed to do run1 today as he came late to the competition yesterday

Rolf in the lead
Rolf Dale, Norway, is in the lead after the first run in the Nordic Open Acro Paragliding Championship 2012. Waiting out the strong wind, the first run could be held in the late afternoon. The conditions were challenging with the north western wind giving the pilots some extra spice to the run. Especially to make it back to the dry landing safe. Rolf performed a beautiful run with a perfect spot landing on the raft on land.
